Our Service Area

We primarily serve the Triangle — Downtown Raleigh, Downtown Chapel Hill, Downtown Durham, Apex, Carrboro, Cary, Morrisville, and the communities in between. If you are in the farther reaches of Wake, Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties, we may charge a driving fee. Please refer to the Service Area Map at the bottom of this page.

Our focus is End-of-Life Care: Hospice & Palliative Care, Quality-of-Life Assessments, Euthanasia Care, & Aftercare Services.

Everyone from the Gentle Journey team will tell you that the discussion of when to say goodbye is the most painful but most important conversation we can have with the families we serve. Speaking about death takes empathy, openness, non-judgment, and understanding. We consider it a privilege to have these difficult conversations with our clients leading up to their pet’s euthanasia at home.

When it is time to say goodbye, we try to make the experience as comfortable as that the last day can be, whether that means staying at home snuggling on the couch, going outdoors in your yard or to a favorite lake or park, or meeting you at our cremation service’s office in Apex, where you may make use of a homey comfort room with chairs, a couch, and blanket.

If you would like us to handle aftercare, we can take your pet with us for private or communal cremation. Gentle Journey is here to help families let their pets move on with dignity, grace, and peace to a place that holds no tears — only beautiful memories.

The first step is either for you to contact us via our portal or to reach us by phone to discuss your pet’s health. We can provide compassionate guidance for you and your pet’s End-of-Life Care journey.
